Manchester: So, there was quite a scene in south Manchester today. Police had to do a controlled explosion after they found a suspicious item in a house.

It all kicked off around 7:50 AM when officers raided a place on Fencot Drive in Longsight. They discovered something that raised alarms, and a bomb disposal unit showed up to handle it.

They taped off several roads nearby, including Northmoor Road and Blakey Street, just to keep everyone safe. Later in the afternoon, they confirmed that the controlled explosion went off without a hitch.

They didn’t share what the suspicious item was, but it was serious enough to warrant all the fuss. Detective Inspector Christopher Woodburn reassured everyone that everything was handled safely and that they’re still looking into it.

He also thanked the locals for their patience and encouraged anyone with concerns to chat with the officers. It’s always good to stay informed, right?
