Five people have been arrested following a double stabbing in Stockport. Two young men were injured but thankfully their injuries are not life-threatening.

Stockport: Police have arrested five people after two young men were hurt in a stabbing. The incident happened early Sunday morning, and both men went to Wythenshawe Hospital.
Thankfully, their injuries aren’t life-threatening. The police believe they were hurt by a knife, but they haven’t released the ages of the victims yet. One report suggests one of them is just 16.
On Sunday, a cordon was set up on Thornton Road in Heald Green. Police were on the scene all morning, guarding a house and keeping an eye on things. They say it looks like an isolated incident, so there’s no wider threat to the area.
One local told the Manchester Evening News that they heard about the stabbing around 3 a.m. They saw a lot of police cars and vans around. Another neighbor mentioned a fight but didn’t know much more.
GMP confirmed the five arrests were made on suspicion of assault. They’re still in custody for questioning. The police are asking anyone with information to call them or reach out to Crimestoppers anonymously.
