A new report reveals that Salford tops the list for first-time buyers in Greater Manchester. With rising prices, finding an affordable home is becoming a real challenge.

Mortgage brokers at Better.co.uk did some digging and ranked the major areas. Salford came out on top, even ahead of Manchester, which is second with an average price of £262,141.
Warrington follows in third place, with homes averaging £246,200. Preston isn’t far behind, sitting at £240,730. Liverpool is the most affordable of the bunch, with an average price of £209,250.
