A new report reveals that Salford tops the list for first-time buyers in Greater Manchester. With rising prices, finding an affordable home is becoming a real challenge.

Prices have been climbing, making it tough for newcomers to get on the property ladder. Many folks want to live in the north west because it’s vibrant and friendly. But some areas are way more affordable than others.
Mortgage brokers at Better.co.uk did some digging and ranked the major areas. Salford came out on top, even ahead of Manchester, which is second with an average price of £262,141.
Warrington follows in third place, with homes averaging £246,200. Preston isn’t far behind, sitting at £240,730. Liverpool is the most affordable of the bunch, with an average price of £209,250.
If you’re looking for a job in the creative field, Salford is a great choice. MediaCityUK is there, home to the BBC and ITV, so job opportunities are plentiful. Plus, there are lovely parks like Peel Park to enjoy.
Even though Salford is the most expensive, it might be worth considering if it fits your budget. Just keep an eye on those prices!
