A new student accommodation project in Manchester may offer 861 rooms and various amenities for students if approved by the city council

Manchester: Exciting news for students! A new student accommodation block might be on the way, featuring over 860 beds, social spaces, and even a gym.
Vita Group is looking to build a mix of 33 and 12-storey towers on a vacant lot at Hulme Street and Medlock Street. The latest designs show 861 rooms, which is a bump from the original plan of 750. More options for students, right?
This new building will be part of the ‘First Street District,’ a cool area that’s really growing. The rooms will be studio-style, complete with kitchenettes, en-suite bathrooms, and study desks. Some larger rooms will even have washer/dryers and a cozy living room.
Tim Groom Architects have also included social spaces, group study rooms, and three gyms in their plans. Plus, they’re thinking about safety with 24-hour security and CCTV. Sounds pretty secure!
It’s conveniently located close to both Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester, making it a great spot for students. The First Street district is a vibrant area with offices, leisure spaces, and even a cinema and art gallery.
So far, the planning application has received no comments or objections. Fingers crossed it gets the green light!
