Exciting news for Salford! A £2.5bn regeneration plan is in the works, aiming to create affordable, energy-efficient homes near Chapel Street.

Salford: Big changes are coming! A £2.5 billion regeneration project is moving ahead. They’ve submitted plans for new homes near Chapel Street, specifically at the Farmer Norton car park.
They’re looking to build 42 three-bedroom houses first. If all goes well, construction could kick off in summer 2025. How cool is that?
This project aims to set a new standard for sustainable living. The homes will be energy-efficient, helping residents save on bills—up to 90% less than traditional homes!
It’s part of the Adelphi Village area, which is one of six zones in the Crescent Salford masterplan. Overall, they plan to create 3,000 homes and boost the local economy.
ECF, the developer, has done other projects in Salford too. They recently finished 96 affordable apartments on Chapel Street and are working on 100 flats on Peru Street, set to be done in 2026.
Salford’s city mayor, Paul Dennett, is thrilled about this progress. He believes providing high-quality, affordable homes is crucial for the community.
Steve Thomas from ECF shared that they’re focused on creating sustainable communities. They want to ensure that the new homes positively impact both the environment and the people living in Salford.
Plus, the masterplan includes upgrades to travel infrastructure. They’re working on a new walking and cycling bridge called Salford Rise to improve connections around the city.
