A notorious shoplifter has been banned from local supermarkets after multiple thefts

Bolton: A notorious shoplifter has been banned from several supermarkets. Jason Wadsworth, 29, recently got a four-month jail sentence for stealing in the Farnworth area.
He also received a three-year criminal behaviour order from the Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court. This order means he can’t enter certain shops in Farnworth and Kearsley until 2028.
If he breaks this order, he could end up back in jail, which the police have made clear. Wadsworth, who doesn’t have a permanent address, was found guilty of 29 shoplifting incidents over the past year.
Sergeant Jessica Prudent from the Bolton Neighbourhood Policing Team said that if he violates any conditions, he’ll be locked up again. His actions have really affected the local community and made life tough for both shoppers and retail staff.
Wadsworth was sentenced at Manchester Magistrates’ Court. The police have worked hard to bring him to justice and are now focused on keeping the community safe.
They’ve teamed up with local retailers and the public to gather information that led to his arrest. If anyone knows about him breaking the rules of his order, they should reach out to the police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
