London: So, here’s the scoop. UK Athletics and a former staff member are in hot water after the tragic death of Paralympian Abdullah Hayayei back in 2017. He was just 36 when he died during a training session.

On January 7, UK Athletics was hit with corporate manslaughter charges, along with some serious health and safety violations. It’s a big deal, and they’re not taking it lightly.

Then there’s Keith Davies, the former Head of Sport for the 2017 World Paralympic Athletics Championships. He got charged with gross negligence manslaughter too. That was on January 6. Both of them are set to face the music at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 31.

The whole thing started when emergency services got called to Newham Leisure Centre after Abdullah was struck on the head by a metal pole during training. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s just heartbreaking.
