Bury: Exciting news! They’ve kicked off construction for Jubilee Heights, a new care home right in the town center. This spot used to be the old police headquarters, which has been empty since 2018.

The new care home is set to open by January 2026 and will cater to adults with various complex needs, including mental health issues and disabilities. It’s a big step forward for the community.

Exemplar Health Care is behind this project, and they’re planning 40 en-suite bedrooms across four units. They’re all about creating a cozy, supportive environment for residents.

Once it’s up and running, there will be communal spaces for dining and activities, sensory bathrooms, and even a salon. Plus, a dedicated therapy room will be available for residents.

This will be Exemplar’s sixth care home in Greater Manchester, joining others in places like Ashton-under-Lyne and Wigan. They’re also looking to hire around 100 new staff members, covering various roles from care to management.

Lindsay Holcroft from Exemplar Health Care shared their vision: they want to enhance the lives of residents by focusing on independence and community involvement. It’s all about making sure everyone feels included and supported.
