Salford: A 37-year-old man named Amaniel Tewelde has been sentenced for his horrific actions. He manipulated and raped a vulnerable woman, leaving her terrified and alone.
It all started when they met in Salford. Despite her pleas to stop, he assaulted her. This wasn’t a one-time thing; he continued to control her, making her feel trapped.
Later, he raped her again in Blackpool. She felt completely isolated and scared for her life. It took a lot of courage, but she finally reported him to the police in September 2020.
Tewelde denied the charges but was found guilty. He received a 15-year sentence at Minshull Street Crown Court. Detectives praised the woman for her bravery in coming forward.
Detective Sergeant Graham Parry highlighted how Tewelde’s actions left her feeling unsafe. He expressed relief that she could finally share her story in court.
