Manchester: This week, some big plans were announced. A new apartment block in Stockport and hundreds of homes in Bury are on the table.
In Bury, the East Lancs Paper Mill Cricket Club will need to move for 400 new homes. Morris Homes Limited is behind this project, which also includes Tower Farm in Radcliffe.
Meanwhile, Stockport is looking at a new 20-storey tower block with 245 homes. They’ll have to tear down the old Victoria House office building to make it happen.
In Bury, there’s also a plan to replace an outdated mosque with a larger building. This new mosque will have a mortuary, library, and classrooms, making it a great community space.
Over in Wythenshawe, a £500 million investment is set to transform the town center. The plan includes a culture hub, food hall, and 1,750 new homes, with a focus on affordable housing.
Littleborough is getting a solar farm with 630 panels on a warehouse roof. This is a step towards greener energy in the area.
Salford is buzzing with plans to create 5,000 new jobs. A new mayoral development zone is in the works, promising a £6.4 million boost to the local economy.
Stockport is also in the mix with plans for two new residential blocks. If approved, these could add hundreds of apartments to the area.
Lastly, in Tameside, a special dog walking field is being proposed. Owners would book slots to let their pets run safely in a fenced area.
