Stockport: So, there’s a bit of a situation with the trains right now. They’ve stopped running near Stockport because emergency services are on the scene dealing with something.

All train services between Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent are currently suspended. This includes Northern, Avanti West Coast, and CrossCountry services. It’s a bit of a mess, to be honest.

A spokesperson from Northern mentioned on X that all lines are blocked due to the emergency response. They’ve had to cancel services running through those stations, which is a real hassle for commuters.

Inrix also chimed in, saying that buses are now running between Macclesfield and Wilmslow, and between Stoke-on-Trent and Cheadle Hulme to help folks get around. It’s good they’re trying to help out.

We don’t have all the details about what’s going on just yet, but British Transport Police is looking into it. Stay tuned for updates as this situation unfolds.
