A man parked briefly at a friend’s house in Mossley and received a parking fine. Locals are frustrated with increasing traffic and parking issues in the growing town.
The only road connecting Top and Bottom Mossley gets jammed easily. When roadworks happen, it’s gridlock. Shopkeeper Tom Ingham sees it all from his store. He worries that the town isn’t built for the growing number of cars.
Recently, a planning application for new homes stirred up anger. Residents fear construction will make traffic even worse. Council members are concerned too, saying road closures can split the town in half.
Andy Taylor, a local butcher, pointed out that the roads weren’t designed for today’s traffic. He’s not a fan of the new homes either. Peter Brown, another local, complained about parking. He got fined for just a minute of parking at a friend’s house.
The town is getting crowded, and parking is a real hassle. The council is trying to tackle these issues, but it’s a tough job. They’re working on a transport strategy to ease congestion and improve life in Mossley.
