Residents and businesses in Trafford can share their thoughts on the Carrington Relief Road. This is a chance to influence a major road improvement scheme in the area.
Trafford: People in Trafford are being asked for their thoughts on a new road project. The Carrington Relief Road aims to improve traffic flow and connect areas better.
Residents and businesses can give feedback in several ways. They can fill out a paper form, complete an online questionnaire, or attend drop-in sessions in Sale and Partington.
This new road will stretch 2.7 miles, linking A6144 Manchester Road to an upgraded junction at Banky Lane. It’s designed to ease traffic, especially heavy vehicles, through Carrington village.
Plus, there will be new cycleways, footpaths, and green spaces. It’s all about making the area more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
There are several events where people can learn more. One is at Ashton-Upon-Mersey Sports Club on January 29, and another on January 30. There’s also a session at The Fuse in Partington on February 5.
Town hall officials say the same information will be available at each event. So, no need to attend more than one. You can also check out the plans at Coppice Library or online.
Council member Stephen Adshead encourages everyone to participate. He believes gathering views is crucial for shaping the project. The public consultation lasts six weeks, so there’s plenty of time to get involved.
After the consultation wraps up, the council will review all feedback. They’ll consider suggested changes to improve the project before submitting a full planning application this year.
