Manchester: A few bars and restaurants in Greater Manchester have made a romantic list. OpenTable just released their Top 100 Romantic Restaurants for 2025.

This list is based on user reviews and ratings. It highlights places where sparks are sure to fly, perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Among the top spots is Bar San Juan in Chorlton. This tapas bar recently won the Neighbourhood Venue of the Year award at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival.

Bar San Juan is known for its authentic Spanish dishes. Their menu features tasty options like Bechamel croquettes and octopus cooked the Galician way.

Another mention is KITTEN, a Japanese izakaya and cocktail bar in Deansgate Square. It opened in 2022 and has a stunning five-metre high bonsai tree.

KITTEN offers robatayaki-style cooking with dishes like chilli glazed scallops and Wagyu steak. They also have a great selection of cocktails and sake.

Albert’s Standish in Wigan is also on the list. It’s cozy and perfect for a romantic meal, serving hearty dishes like Lancashire cheese pie and lamb ragu.

They even offer Afternoon Tea on Saturdays and a special roast menu on Sundays. Diners rave about the lovely staff and superb food.

The Blues Kitchen in the city centre is another highlight. Located on Quay Street, it features live music and a menu full of Southern American barbecue delights.

They serve everything from fried chicken to taco bowls. Their cocktail menu is also impressive, with options like spicy margaritas and lychee martinis.

Other notable mentions outside Greater Manchester include Wreck in Liverpool and Sticky Walnut in Chester. The full list is available online.
