It was supposed to be a week of celebration for Fat Pat’s. Instead, the popular sandwich shop is closed, leaving fans wondering what’s going on.
They serve these massive 12-inch subs from a little hatch on Portland Street, right near Chinatown. Everyone’s been buzzing about their sandwiches since they opened in 2022. But now, their Instagram just says they’re “CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.” Even Uber Eats shows them as unavailable.
People are really curious. One fan asked, “Why are you guys closed?” Another was more direct, saying, “Why is it shut??” Everyone wants to know when they’ll be back.
The good news is that the staff is working on things behind the scenes. One of the owners told the Manchester Evening News they’re figuring stuff out and should have an update soon. They’ve made quite a name for themselves with their Philly Cheesesteak and Shrimp Po’Boy.
Their semolina milk rolls are a hit too. A review from 2022 called them “the best sandwiches in the city.” One customer even said their Hot Honey Fried Chicken sub would be their last meal if they were on death row. How wild is that?
